These mixed media works explore my fascination with expanding on the formal and structural elements of bridges, train tracks, steam, and other train related subject matter. I further draw upon myths, archetypes, and general culture to make recondite statements about everything from my relationship to art history to emotional and mental states of being.

Traditional drawing materials are used in addition to the veritable stuff of trains, such as coal from coal trains or the rust of railroad spikes, so that which is being described and the description merge.
